Andrew and Lauren were in town for a few more days and we rented a car via Turo to head North to the Shore. Stopping at Green World Coffee Farm, we grabbed some cold drinks and chatted about crime documentaries.
Our first stop on the North Shore was Waimea Bay - a classic beach to take first-timers but it's almost always a bit rainy. We swam a bit, drank a bit, and Lauren accidentally popped the pink tube. This day was off to a great start. We then carried on to our favorite shrimp truck and wandered around Hale'iwa, popping in and out of the sleepy paniolo shops.
Our plan was to catch a fiery sunset at the famous Sunset Beach but it was raining when we pulled up. We sat in the car for a bit then decided the rain shouldn't stop us - especially since we had a cooler full of beer and ice. This turned out to be a beautiful blue beachy sunset on the North Shore that we will always remember.
The rest of the week Brandi and I traded off being sick and we said "Aloha" for the second time to Lauren and Andrew as they left the island and made their way back to Texas. We hope they had as great of a time as we did during their stay!
